Companionship with real maintenance

Breathing, eyes and heat
The shortened face can affect breathing and cooling. Choose functional nostrils and a moderate muzzle, avoid hard exercise in heat and treat noisy or laboured breathing as a health concern rather than a charming trait. Hair and facial folds must not irritate the eyes.
Coat care choices
A long coat needs daily, thorough combing, regular bathing and careful drying. A short trim reduces but does not remove maintenance. Introduce grooming in brief rewarded sessions and seek professional help before mats become tight.
