Elegant appearance, energetic mind

Turkish Angoras are often confident, agile and interested in household activity. They may form strong preferences about people and routines. Respect choice around handling; a cat that enjoys company may still dislike restraint.

Climbing and shared activity

Provide tall stable structures, interactive play, scratching surfaces and training games. Secure windows and fragile shelves. Access to quiet retreats keeps an active home from becoming overwhelming.

Seasonal coat care

The silky coat has relatively little undercoat but changes seasonally. Gentle combing once or twice weekly is often useful, increasing when shedding. Introduce nail, dental and carrier care through brief positive sessions.

Hearing and health

White cats, particularly some blue-eyed individuals, may be deaf in one or both ears. Deaf cats can thrive indoors with visual communication and appropriate safety. Ask about hearing assessment, heart health and family history. Colour should never be the primary selection criterion.
